Strategies to Break Into Product Management (APAC Timezone)
August 16 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Breaking into the industry with no experience is not easy, but possible.
I did it 15 years ago from Sales to PM. I’ve helped hundreds of people do so since then.
Product management is one of the highest-paying jobs in Tech. With an average salary of $120K USD, it’s an attractive role for technology professionals.
The skills of product management provide the blueprint for being a problem solver, analytical thinker, and inspiring leader.
This is why the current CEOs of Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft all started their careers as product managers.
This event is designed to help you:
1, Formulate a plan to land your first product management job
2, What a product manager does in a company
3, What are the differences between a Project manager, vs Product Manager vs Product Owner, etc.
4, What are some courses you need to take
5, How you can get experience if you don’t have experience already
Who you’ll be learning from?
Hey there! 👋 I’m Dave Wang. I’ve taught over 4,000 people in the PM word and have helped hundreds of people break into Product Management!
Product was my first job, and it’s the only job I’ve done for the past 17+ years. I started as a Junior PM, then moved to Senior PM, and then worked my way up to a Group PM at Linktree, And not just in one type of environment but across startups, scale-ups, and corporates.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been building and ‘white-labelling’ Product Management courses with institutions like General Assembly, Harvard Innovation Labs, Melbourne Business School and EntryLevel.
Working with education institutions gave me the opportunity to teach over 4,000+ students in over 200+ classes and have helped countless students break into PM or get promoted into higher roles.
